Fly with a clinician beside you.
A licensed nurse, paramedic, or physician meets you at your door, travels with you on a regular commercial flight, and stays until you're safely at your destination. For anyone who shouldn't travel alone, or simply doesn't want to.
How a trip works
Before you fly
A physician reviews your needs, matches the right companion, handles airline medical clearance, and confirms oxygen, mobility, and medication plans.
Door to door
Your companion picks you up at home, manages bags and airports, sits with you in flight, and stays alert to how you're doing the whole way.
At your destination
Handoff to family, a facility, or your hotel. Daily check-ins during your stay and a companion for the return trip are available.
Who travels with you
Choose the level of support that fits. We'll help you decide.
Travel companion
A screened, medically trained companion for travelers who are anxious, elderly, or unfamiliar with airports. Navigation, bags, reassurance, and a clinician one call away.
Nurse or paramedic
Vital signs, medications, glucose checks, oxygen and CPAP support, wheelchair transfers, and clinical judgment throughout the trip.
Physician
A board-certified emergency physician for complex medical conditions, recent hospital discharges, or travelers who want the highest level of care.
Travel expenses include the companion's airfare, lodging, and ground transport. You'll receive a single all-in quote before anything is booked. Most trips are private pay; we can provide documentation for insurance or reimbursement requests.
Request a travel companion
Tell us about the trip and we'll call within one business day to go over needs and give you a quote.
Join the Vital Passage clinician network
We're building a network of paramedics, nurses, NPs, PAs, and physicians who travel with patients on commercial flights. Assignments are typically one to three days, paid per day plus all travel expenses. Pick the trips that fit your schedule.
Physician-led and run by a practicing emergency physician. You'll have medical direction, clear protocols, and a doctor to call from anywhere.
